The First Seminar-Presentation of New Russian Technologies in the Estonian Republic took place on June 10 - 12, 2003 in Tallinn, Estonia.

The Exhibition-Seminar was organized by Patent bureau Volinik L.G. with support of the Economic Council of the Union of Organizations of Russian Compatriots in Estonia and the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Estonia.

The goal of the Exhibition-Seminar is creating favourable grounds for establishing contacts and developing real cooperation between Russian and former SU creators of new technics and technologies and potential business partners from Estonia.

Participants of the Seminar from Russia and former member-states of the SU were able to:

display their projects to potential partners;

get acquainted with ways of realization of new technologies and investments into new technologies in Estonia, Baltic States and Scandinavia;

exchange experience with colleagues from Estonia;

receive legal and financial advise and information;

continue negotiations on further cooperation, visiting Estonian organizations and enterprises of interest.

Four research-and-production enterprises from Moscow, Moscow oblast and Saint-Petersburg, Russia, took part in the work of the Exhibition-Seminar presenting altogether more than 30 projects in different fields of science and technology. There were also more than 40 representatives of different companies and organizations from Estonia participating in the Event.

The Russian delegation was headed by Dr. Aleksandr Ashihin - the Director of the Federal Institute of the Industrial Property of ROSPATENT, professor, Corresponding Member of the RAES.

The Exhibition-Seminar was highly appreciated by participants as well as guests and general public.

According to the Russian participants,

- «…we are taking away more than 20 offers for co-operation. We have heard a lot of interesting questions that we shall provide replies to in process of our work. Then we will be able to meet the demand of local businesses for at least few new technologies… I would give the Exhibition-Seminar the highest rating, as it managed to bring together enterprises with concrete interest in the projects presented at the Exhibition» (Evgeni Rizhov, the Deputy Director of the State cosmic scientific and production M.V.Khrunichev-center in interview to the newspaper «Molodezh Estonii» of 18 June 2003);
