An employee who is a citizen of the European Union and his or her family member

Employees or officials, who are the citizens of a Member State of the European Union and of the European Economic Area, and his or her family members shall be treated in the same way as the Estonian citizens, regardless of their citizenship. The Commissioner for Gender Equality and Equal Treatment acts as a contact point for cooperation between EU Member States in order to support the exercise of the right of free movement of employees and their family members who are citizens of an EU Member State and of an EEA Member State. An employee or official, who is a citizen of a Member State of the European Union and of the European Economic Area, and a family member thereof who considers that he or she has suffered from or still suffers from unjustified restrictions or obstacles to the exercise of the right of free movement of employees, or that he or she has been treated unlawfully as a result of failure to apply the principle of equal treatment, even if the employment relationship involving the alleged restriction, impediment or discrimination has ended, may invoke all remedies on the same basis and to the same extent as an Estonian citizen can.
